Fixing Climate

Expanding the Frame to See the Solution

Conventional framing of the climate crisis focuses on increasing carbon density in our sky chemistry.

That framing shows us a carbon pollution problem that calls for carbon pollution control solutions: make politicians make laws that make the polluters stop polluting and make the bad actors pay for their bad actions.

But if we listen to the full story being told to us by Climate Science, we can see why it is that COP28 correctly concluded that the action we must be taking is

“transitioning away from fossil fuels in a just, orderly and equitable manner”.

COP28

Increasing carbon densities in earth’s sky chemistry is indeed the proximate cause of climate change, but why do we care if the climate is changing? And what is causing carbon densities in earth’s sky chemistry to increase?

WHY

is this happening?
do we care?

Climate Action is trapped in Inaction in no small part because these questions, of Why?, are outside the frame through which we are looking at the situation.

what kind of world
do we want
and how
can we make it happen?
